In these days of Salt-Nic and Disposables, Flavor Bans and Prohibitive High Taxes, does Tobacco Harm reduction even matter?
Really depends who you ask. You will find drastically different answers depending on the source. In the UK, E-cigarettes equal harm reduction for smokers. In the US, E-Cigarettes equal Cigarettes despite the absolute lack of evidence towards that conclusion. In both countries, cigarette smoking remains the leading cause of preventable death.

Comparing Vapor and Alcohol: Discrepancies in Standards by the Same Authors and Publications
|In this recent tweet thread from the American Vapor Manufacturers, they explore the wildly contrasting treatment of vaping products and alcohol beverages in the United States. The thread highlights the startling double standard in how the Wall Street Journal and the national press cover liquor companies compared to vape companies. They criticize the hypocrisy of favorable coverage of a flavored seltzer mogul’s new vodka product while condemning flavored vaping products.
No Joke, this is a screen shot from a recent Whiteclaw advertisement. ⬇

What our Public Health Agencies promote to the public turns out NOT to be the FULL truth.
|In this second Tweet thread by American Vapor Manufacturers,
The American Vapor Manufacturers discusses an AVM FOIA request that reveals a “confidential” FDA study contradicting the agency’s fear-mongering claims about e-cigarettes. The 193-page document covers data on health effects, teen use, and smoking cessation up to March 31, 2020. The study highlights several startling admissions that contradict the FDA’s public statements.
It reveals that e-cigarettes expose users to fewer harmful compounds compared to combustible cigarettes, and there is no evidence linking vaping to cancer in humans.

Bad Policy leads to Bad Outcomes
Lastly, a news article reports on a tragic incident in San Diego California where two teenagers from Southern California have been arrested in connection with the murders of two young men during a meeting involving the illegal sale of vape products.
The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department made the arrests, with a 15-year-old boy being apprehended in Oceanside and a 17-year-old in Riverside. The victims, who were friends, were found with gunshot wounds in San Marcos. One of them died on the night of the incident, while the other passed away the following day. The investigation suggests that the suspects and victims did not know each other personally but met for the purpose of an illegal vape product sale. The specific motivation and circumstances are still being investigated. The article also mentions that the legality of the vape products involved, whether tobacco- or THC-based, has not been determined. The sale of tobacco to individuals under 21 is illegal in California, and voters approved a ban on flavored cigarettes and vaping cartridges to restrict their access by teenagers. However, possession of such products is not a crime. The article does not provide clarification on whether it was THC or Nicotine Vapes involved in this tragic event but almost every single outlet that ran it included this image:
